Last Sunday, our regular Taman Tun Park affair turns out to be one of double fun and excitement for Clayton and us! We met some good friends and the river outing was a fabulous one for the two kiddos. Though it's Wordless Wednesday, I find it hard to stay wordless when I see these happy faces... children are a gift from Heaven above, let's treasure them...

wordless wednesday - favourite playground

There's this great playground where I take Clayton each time when we are in Singapore. Situated at The Forum Shopping Mall, the playground is on level 2 and admission is upon membership application. At a low $20 for two years, you can bring your kids to the playground during the stipulated hours. Slides, colour balls and many fleets of tricycles and a little playhouse, you can take a break at one corner while your active ones burn off some energy!

back from singapore and back to doldrums of life

Clayton and I had a good break in Singapore. Though it was a short one, we did all that 'we' wanted to do. He had a great time in Garage Adventures and I did all my errands including catching up with a couple of friends.

It is kinda nice to feel the buzz and rush in the cityscape of Singapore though it is not something I would enjoy for a long time. I appreciate these busy atmosphere whenever I'm back - it makes me feel very 'local' again. This fits the efficient service culture here in this lion city.

One of the perks for Clayton was to visit the 12th Craziest Toy Sale in Takashimaya podium. It was really crazy with back-to-back human traffic and lots of toys at cheap deals. I examined a few sets of toys and realized that they were cheap for obvious reasons. The quality for a lot of these cheap toys were compromised but seriously, kids won't care abit at all.



I didn't do much shopping this trip cos I simply had no mood to buy anything new clothing. The only item I got was a GG5 jacket and a few skin care products from Jurlique. Spending a few hours in Le Salon was a pampering experience since I had some time to spare on Saturday morning.

That's all for a brief update on my Singapore trip. It's now back at work and back to the doldrums of life :)

my home country

Not only do I miss Singapore, I found out Clayton does too! He was so excited when I told him that we were going to SG 2 weeks ago. DH tried to pull his leg by telling him that he would have to stay back in MY and he started crying. I guess he must be missing the MRT train rides, Garage Adventures, Jie Jie Adeline (owner of Garage Adventures), Ah Ma (grandma in teochew) and maybe the pigeon hole :P

I know I need this time off. I need time to rest my mind, take a break from blogging and gain back my sanity. Singapore may be a busy and fast paced city but if you know where and how to chill, it's a great city to be in. It's not only the shopping. Actually, I don't even need anything. I just like to walk on the streets safely without worrying about my handbag kena grabbed when a motor bike zoomed past me. I don't need to worry about Clayton being wheeled away on his stroller when I step away a few seconds. There are crimes still but it's just not so paranoia for me. Coming home and walking on the streets after 10pm is common... this is my home country. I've learned to appreciate it now.

can't stand this crap anymore

I can't help but say this: There are lots of crimes waiting to be solved and what is the police doing about it? Instead of stopping crimes such as going after those who rape innocent women, rob helpless old folks, kidnap the innocent kids, they are spending time on manpower just to arrest someone charged with sodomy.

If you have done your research in the web (local and international sites), you can read and judge for yourself if this allegation is ever true. A seven year old kid will tell you that this is an insult to this man who has the great potential of becoming the PM of this country. But WHY did the govt so foolishly think that the nation is so naive, that they should believe everything the local media and the BN say about 'history is repeating itself'? Why isn't questioning that this is political driven and it's an action of inferiority, fear and perhaps, kiasu-ism. Or should I say they are 'kiasi'.

Instead of a gentleman fight, it's all done in an despicable manner - just like what you see in the movies. C'mon, this 23 yo fellow will say anything for a big stack of money promised to him, isn't it? Who is he man? He is a drop out and a spy, an opportunist and perhaps, someone who has no shame at all? And apparently, his beau is defending him, claiming that she'll stand by him - why not for a big diamond ring or perhaps a holiday to London?

Oh well, I feel like I'm narrating a movie, or should I say, directing. I just can't stand this crap, day in and day out. It's drama but this drama is so low-class, so unpolished.

yea, yea, I'm going back to my pigeon hole!

Yea, yea, yea, I'm going home to the police state on friday. Many locals here always tell me that I come from a police and sterile state but seriously, I have no complaints. Why complain when I don't have to hear all the political bickering, backside stories, bollywood dramas and low class media reports everyday. Well, I truly feel sorry for the folks here - I really do. These days, I only gather my political updates from Malaysia Kini, Malaysia Today and Malaysia Insider. I stop wasting time on The Star, it's just not worth my time anymore. Infact, the only thing I look out for in The Star are advertisements, cheap airfares, travel promotions, food recommendations and world news updates.

I need to breathe some fresh air from my mom's flat. Though Singapore is all crowded and cluttered but it does feel cosy in a pigeon hole once a while. I feel safer, more at ease and less frustrated. The best part is, Clayton gets his break at Garage Adventures with Adeline and I get mine! Retail therapy in Singapore is beyond comparison (for now!).

What is my poor DH going to do while we are away for a few days... poor thing. I think he must be stocking up some new DVDs - LOL!

*Actually, Malaysia is becoming a 'police state' too - just in a different way :P

One month from today, we will be hosting our second seminar with Ron. Somehow, my body seems to be crying out for more rest and more sleep after each seminar so you can imagine how motivated I am to start another round of marketing.

There are so many things waiting to be done at home. My new ikea curtains are still sealed in the original packing. My luggage still unpacked and soon, I'll be packing for a weekend trip to Singapore. I am missing home, the skyscrapers of Singapore and my favourite Toast sandwich plus some pampering in Le Salon and the Nail Salon. Few more days and I'll be back in my mom's pigeon hole in Toa Payoh... nice to have a change after two months stuck here in KL.

thank God for Kess' Mama and Wendy

We had a successful and good seminar last Thursday with Ron Kaufman. Despite the economic upheavals and political instability, we saw a good turnout and it was great to fill up 80% of the plenary theatre at the KL Convention Centre. There were a couple of hiccups and awkward situations during the seminar but after all these years of being an organizer, we had learnt to be cool and calm about things.

We were specially thankful for good friends who play such an important part in the success of our programs. Without Kess' mama, we wouldn't be able to run the seminar without any worries of our little boy's well being. Clayton was so excited to hear that Kess' mama was babysitting him. He had a great time with Auntie Eliza (aka Kess' mama) - they swam, relaxed at the jacuzzi pool in Traders Hotel, went to KLCC, sat in the buggy, went to the KLCC playground and had tea at the Traders lounge. We truly appreciate Eliza for sacrificing her time despite her busy preparation for her upcoming New York trip.

Then it was Wendy, a friend I knew when Clayton was only a little baby. She came to babysit Clayton when we had a dinner meeting with Ron and his wife. What touched my heart was that, she had come to help us despite her health condition. I tried to sneak a love gift envelope into her bag but to my dismay, she discovered it on the way home in hubby's car. She refused to accept any monetary gift at all. We really wanted to bless her with a love offering as she is currently undergoing cancer treatments after being diagnosed with colon cancer last year (a relapse). I felt sad that we couldn't play a part in blessing her cos she is one lovely person. She even bought books for Clayton - imagine how bad I felt when she refused to accept our gift. Clayton slept while counting numbers with Wendy and he woke up in the middle of the night crying, "I want Auntie Wendy to come back". Since she's now on organic food (due to her cancer relapse), we are thinking about sending her an organic hamper, knowing that she would reject another monetary gift.

We are heartily thankful for God's provision in every seminar and event of ours. Jehovah Jireh, He is indeed our provider.

Not too long ago, I posted a short buzz on Faces and Places photography exhibition. This morning, I met one of the owners of Art Malaysia during a brunch at a new tim sum restaurant - Jin Xuan Hong Kong Tim Sum. Audrey, also my cell host was thanking me for posting a link for Galeri Dunia Seni Lukis. To my pleasant surprise, she had also started a couple of blogs.

This evening, I also found out that the owner of Art Malaysia had started a blog early this month - congrats Bro Kian and welcome to the wonderful world of blogging! Art Malaysia is hosting a Christian art exhibition on 19 July to raise funds for Harapan Komuniti Bhd. Featuring artists from Indonesia, Philippines, Korea & Malaysia, the paintings carry the theme of God's Creation & Worship. To read about the inspiration and birth of this art exhibition, nobody tells it better than Bro Kian himself. This man sure has a heart for the needy of this country.

The young people of today are so blessed, aren't they? Just get into the train in Singapore, Japan or Hong Kong and it is easy to spot youngsters carrying ipods in their hands or bags. Somehow, these digital gadgets have become a lifestyle thingy, just like cell phones too. It is common to spot a teenager carrying the latest cell phone with all the entertainment features from 3G to video games. Sometimes, it makes me wonder what would it be like when my son grows up to be a teenager. I wonder what will be the next trend or in-thing when the time comes.

my sister

Last week, I received an unpleasant news about my step sister who was scheduled to undergo a head surgery. Though we are never that close, it worries me when I heard about the news and her current health condition. Apparently, she was diagnosed to have a few tumours in her head and the doctor had advised that they be removed immediately. I was sad to even hear that she had lost her eyesight for her left eye and that was caused by a damaged blood vessel from a fall she had two months ago.

This afternoon, I received an sms from her that she had undergone the first surgery. It troubled me that the details were clear and her phone line was too broken to gather anything. But I am thankful that prayers are offered on her behalf and I trust that God is watching over her. While browsing through some online gift baskets, I also think it is ideal to send her a Bible and simple Christian literature. I pray that God will continue to heal and minister to her as she recuperates from her surgeries.

We went to the launch of Faces and Places photography exhibition, organized by a cell member, Bro Liew who also owns Gallery Dunia Seni Lukis. I didn't expect my little boy to be excited about photos of people and places. He got bored so fast and started to sulk at a corner. I could only try to entertain him by snapping some shots in the art gallery. I love the raw and all natural cement floor, you see. I only wish I have a digital SLR camera at that moment. Actually, I felt a little shy snapping photos with my Canon IXUS pocket camera in a professional photography exhibition - it's kinda funny :P

Lately, I find myself fighting several personal and work battles. As I take a bird's eye view of each incident, I spotted a common trait of the individuals involved. Lies, deception, betrayal, are three common traits of the analogy. Whether it's politics in a country or work place, people tell lies to get away from trouble. It's so human to do that, it is almost natural.

Everything that is happening seems to reinforce the message that it's time to move out and move on. All events are pointing towards the plan to 'get out' and cross to the other side. I can't wait to take a breather, I seriously need a break. At the end of the day, nothing beats the time spent with Clayton painting and doodling with his new brushes, experimenting with his Pelikan paint palette and cutting cardboard boxes. I felt so relaxed to paint imaginary pictures with him... children's minds are so creative. It is refreshing.

For a moment, everything else doesn't matter - the political and work nonsense - all I want is to treasure those precious moments as I discover the creativity in this little mind.

The week seems to pass so fast. I don't know if it's because we are counting down to our July seminar with Ron Kaufman or we are too busy with parenting and work duties. It's been like this for the last 3 years and 8 months and we are still dealing with new challenges and experiences everyday. That is parenting from home. It's fun, exciting, inspiring and frustrating.

DH and myself are also talking about our plans for next year. It is full of uncertainty at this moment. Yet, we are looking forward to the change. We know it won't be easy but entrepreneurs must embrace change with courage and strength, plus lots of faith. Our hearts are longing for a breakthrough for our personal and work lives. But we are counting our blessings everyday to have come so far and be where we are in our business. Most of all, in the last 3 years and 8 months, we have seen how our little boy has grown... his baby photos on my home office wall brought me lots of comforts and appreciation. We know that we have to keep moving on... knowing that at the end of the day, we are not alone and it's worth it all.

He was excited about his new goggles. I could tell that he couldn't wait to jump into the pool when we took him for a site inspection. Then again, I must admit that Putrajaya Shangri-la hotel does have a beautiful adult and children pool with lovely views of Putrajaya. We had a wonderful and relaxing time at the pool...

don't take security for granted

You can't take security for granted these days, can you? I have heard enough stories from friends and business contacts on how bold those robbers are. Imagine waking up to a missing car with your automated gate intact? Imagine coming back to a plundered home with human poo on your bed just because those low-class robbers couldn't find anything valuable to take with them?

Perhaps every new home should come installed with ademco wireless security systems or maybe a CCTV? According to our security expert friend, all these may not be that effective, not even if you have a few thousand dollars alarm installed in the house. With rising living costs, fuel hikes and economic instability, security will remain an alarming concern in our neighbourhood and city. Be vigilant. Don't take security for granted.

investments come in various options

When it comes to financial matters, I prefer to refer to the man in the house for obvious reasons. I'm generally not a numbers person. Not that I'm hopeless in Math but I just feel giddy when the numbers get more intense. Thus, I consult DH on financial and investment stuff. Contrary to me, he's pretty savvy with figures and he loves to get close to investment and financial matters.

Investment options can be subjective. My mom used to choose gold investing when she was younger and it seems that this trend is still popular among many investors. Gold investment can be in done in the form of coins of ingots and it should be bought from a reputable dealer. If uncertain, you should always check the credibility of the company before making that decision to place your money.

missing singapore, my hometown

Isn't facebook amazing? I've connected with so many old friends from Singapore in the last few days since I left the city in 2000. Like what a friend had said, "You can take the girl out of Singapore but you can't take Singapore out of her!" That's ME he was talking about - LOL.

8 years had passed and I still haven't fallen in love with where I am now. I've tried, given it many chances but yet, it's still going to be a short term place for me. I have to admit that Singapore has changed so much but there are still so much good stuff in the city. It's definitely more efficient, cleaner, safer and more convenient. My hubby isn't going to say I'm biased this time cos too much nonsensical news in the papers recently are causing him to agree with our migration plan.

Oh yes, you can say I'm ranting :P

felt like being vain

Inspired by Karen Cheng's Doing the Karen Cheng, I started snapping photos when trying out a few items at AllDressedUp. I wouldn't be doing that if there wasn't a store wide 30% discount at The Gardens and since I had my camera with me, I decided to have fun with trying out different outfits... I just felt like being vain :P

shopping in US factory outlets

During our trip to the States, I did alot of shopping for Clayton's clothes and shoes. Children's apparel are very affordable in the factory outlets all over the US and all you need is a car, your credit card and lots of time!

I bought myself a pair of Diesel from the outlet though I was hoping to get a pair of Ecco shoes for casual wear. Clayton's Timberland cost merely less than USD$25 and my hubby got himself four pairs of shoes! That was one occasion where he went on a shopping spree. Three pairs within an hour and another one was bought in another outlet. With the US dollar weakening, it seems like a good time to visit the US. Then again, I don't think we would be heading that way for the next one year.

it's time for a summer getaway

My body and mind are both crying out for a break. Since I can't take time off during this hectic period, I have to consider other options to relax those muscles and rejuvenate my brain cells! I am filled with admiration for some of my good friends who will be heading to New York and London... how envious!

It's shopping day today! DH is out of town and it's left with me and the soon-to-be 4yo to comb the mall. I flip the papers with hopes to check out what's on sale in the shops this weekend but as usual, there are far too many slimming centre ads in the media. I can believe that the slimming industry is a big market with many women longing to have slender figures like celebrities and hollywood stars. If you are one of those who are taking diet or slimming pills, it is wise to read about diet pill reviews first before popping any pills into your system. Just remember that diet pills won't make you slim. It's all about what you eat and how you lead your lifestyle that will make a significant difference.

spam text messages are annoying

Lately, I've been getting lots of text messages on sale annoucements via my mobile phone. It seems that sms marketing is getting popular to the extent of retailers spamming mobile users with too announcements and messages. What annoys is that some of these messages are sent late at night and it can cause unnecessary worries for the recipient. If only the mobile phone can be set in a anti-spam mode like our emails and we don't need to be bothered with messages from unknown sources and senders.

predictions of future calamities?

Last Friday, someone circulated an email of a series of predictions by this guy by the name of Mr. Juseleeno, born in 1960(reportedly still alive in 2008). Juseleeno is a Brazilian who has made many predictions, and MOST have come to pass, including Princess Diana's death by car accident (which is instigated by someone near her and will probably unfortunately be written off as a car accident), 911 and the 2004 Indonesian tsunami. He sees the future in his dreams, and has an average of 3 to 9 such predictions per day. When he wakes up, he will write them down, and send warnings to those concerned.

If it concerns only a normal individual, he will write a letter to warn him/her.
If it is a famous person(celebrity, politician etc.), or matters concerning the public, he will not only send it to the individual himself/herself, but also related agencies, government, and media. He urged the media to publicise these predictions, but the reply always went along the lines of rejection for fear of arousing public panic.

Well, here are some of the future predictions:
2008, July: There will be an earthquake in Japan, which will cause a tsunami of 30 plus metres high to occur as well.

2008, 18th September: An earthquake with magnitude of approximately 9.1 will rock China , simultaneously causing a tsunami of more than 30 metres to occur, resulting in the deaths of more than 1 million people.

Although this huge earthquake will happen after the Olympics have ended, there will be a series of relatively smaller earthquakes occurring in China before the huge earthquake. The China government, which is more concerned with the success of the Olympics, will most likely neglect to employ appropriate cautionary measures, thus the high casualty rate. If the China government does not publicise the occurrence of these minor earthquakes and evacuate people, the number of deaths will be as predicted.

2008, 17th December: terrorist attack in America

Well, don't ask me how true are these predictions cos we are supposed to be traveling to Tokyo for our yearly vacation in autumn. I was joking with DH that if this trip had to be cancelled becos of a natural disaster, then I may like to consider Florida and Vegas for the family vacation. Maybe I should start checking out las vegas hotels - just in case :P

a visit to the computer mall

Take a walk in the computer mall in Low Yat or Seksyen 14 and you will be tempted to buy the latest, lightest, coolest, most high tech laptop. We were in the computer mall in Seksyen 14 last weekend and I had to keep myself away from those cool digital stuff! Everyone wants a laptop with the best laptop memory configuration at the lowest price possible. The lightest gadget steals the show and the one with the most features attract the tech savvy. For me, I'm happy with my Macbook Pro since it's been living up to my expectations. Except for slow loading with Photoshop, it's one of the coolest laptops I've ever had.

3.5 yo fascinated with hotels

My 3.5 yo has been asking me about Traders Hotel and Shangri-la hotel every day. He will wake up and ask "Is this Shangri-la or not?" or "Is it Traders hotel or not?"

It all started when we booked ourselves into Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur during our April event and he was fascinated with this idea of staying in a hotel since! I bet it is fun for a preschooler - new place, new bed, big plasma TV ( we got an executive suite room!), pool, playground at the KLCC park, buggy to KLCC mall and more!

Then I told him that we'll be at the Putrajaya Shangri-la next week and after a preview of the hotel, he's been looking forward to it. This time, he's going to have fun at the fountain court outside the room. I chose the fountain court room for the little patio space and the cosy fountain feature. I bet he's going to have lots of fun at this new hotel next week. So will daddy. He'll be the babysitter while I'm at work.

petrol increase, public outcry and all the bull doze

Petrol is now RM2.70 per litre. When the news was released on Wednesday, I received msn from my buddy reminding me that I should top up our car before midnight. While I believe this will hit many who travel frequently on the road for work and business, it will affect the cost of living for many households.

My hubby was stuck in the jam coming home from a meeting and his description of the jam at petrol kiosk seemed unbelievable. Malaysia is a net exporter of oil and it still puzzles many of the government decision. Whoever says that M'sia standard of living is low and Malaysia is a cheap place to live - I wanna slap his face! I have lived here for more than eight years and can never understand why people are still saying this. With these rising prices in petrol, rice, food and others, I can't wait to relocate - for good, that is. I know by then I will miss my friends here and again, this is the only thing that I will miss. Nothing else, I'm afraid... and I hope my hubby is reading this. I don't need to give him 10 reasons why I can't wait to move... he is already convinced but he's still asking - sigh!

For those who make just enough for the family, I can imagine the stress and struggle they would face in the next many months. So what if road tax is reduced, how many agree that this is just an excuse to ease the turmoil and public outcry. And who would believe that the national oil company will go bust by 2018 should the subsidy continues - what a bulldoze - I really wanna laugh!

lessons of a full time WAHM

These few days, I have been struggling with my active preschooler. The school holidays aren't doing him much good since there isn't any outlet for him to burn his stored energy. I feel bad about exposing him too much TV but the problem lies in the fact that this is a busy period for our business. Plus, he had a couple of toilet accidents which made me so furious. What touched my heart was when he kept asking me if I was happy. He wanted the assurance from me that I wasn't sad or mad at him. I had to keep my composure and looked serious enough so that he won't repeat the mistake.

There is so much to learn from a child. They forgive and forget very quickly. One moment, he would be crying over the spanking on his tushy and another minute, he would be amusing me and resuming his normal self. It is so cute to behold yet there is so much treasure in these life's lessons. Amidst the pressures of work and stresses of full-time parenting, I am thankful for my boy and his life plus the lessons he has taught me, of which no one can show me in his innocent and simple ways.

learning from the west

In the last few months, I have come across a few drug rehab centers in the US that are set in conducive and serene environments surrounded with views of valleys, hills, oceans and valleys. Personally, I believe these centers are great venues for those who are seeking for help from their addiction problems. The environment together with experienced counsellors and effective treatment programs are all helpful in the recovery process for these addicts as opposed to rehabs that are outdated, uninviting who don't promote the sense of well being. Perhaps, rehabs in Asia countries can also learn something from the west - creating an environment that is not intimidating and negative for those who are struggling to recover from their addiction problems.

weekends are here - yay!

I can't wait for another weekend to arrive... this would mean next week would be the second week of school holidays. That means, Clayton will be back to normal schedule after next week :) Well, don't get me wrong. I love my boy and love to spend every minute with him but with our next seminar coming up in less than 6 weeks' time, there are so much to do. The poor boy has been calling for attention and I feel bad when he gets bored, restless and lonely.

Hopefully, we can hop to the mall for some shopping and he gets to read some books in his favourite bookstore. I may have to shop for some thank you cards and Quinceanera invitations for DH and maybe utilize my shopping vouchers in the stores. Maybe I'll get him a new scooter since his previous one was destroyed by his uncle whose weight crushed the front wheels two months ago. Now the poor boy has only his motorized motor cycle to ride and I could tell that he's missing his scoot-around vehicle.

Oh, Clayton had a new drum set from daddy last week and he's been drumming away since :)

back to blogging and good health

It's exactly a week since I last wrote... it's been a busy week with the 2-day workshop that ended on Wednesday. My blogging activity had been low as I was too tired to write anything else at the end of the day. The workshop turned out very good and I was glad to meet all 14 ladies from all walks of life. They were keen to learn and it gave me great comfort to see the change in most of them.

On the health front, I have been recovering very well with the medication from the Chinese Doctor. The first two days were bad. I could hardly sleep and my throat was constantly feeling dry and tight. But it felt alot better on the third day onwards and most importantly, I could actually breathe comfortably, unless the past where I often had that nasal blockage. To help in the recovery, I have been in bed by 12am which explains why the blogging activities have been low too.

I'm really feeling good and after this incident, I have learned not to take my health for granted. I owe my body a great deal to get more rest and sleep from now on.

a day in Klang

I've got some cool comments from the guys after posting the previous post - thanks, guys, for the opinion. Anyways, men and women are never meant to be the same, isn't it? That makes this world a more interesting and fun place to live!

My fever is gone and my nose is clearing. I just got back from another TCM doctor in Klang. I really have Kess Mama and her sister, Evelyn to thank, for being so kind to show me the way there. We had lunch with our Klang Tai Kor (LOL) and had seafood in Siow Tiow. Then he took all of us to the BEST chendol in Klang. Don't ask me if it's good cos I didn't eat it. I can't. I am not supposed to eat anything cold. Sorry, no photos cos I wasn't in the mood to shoot photos... we were running late!

Anyways, Eastern Medicine was located in another part of Klang and by the time we reached there, it was going to 4pm and we were supposed to pick Clayton at 4pm? How to rush back to PJ on time? Sigh! Thank God for the school for graciously keep our boy there while we were stuck at the TCM doctor. It was good that my hubby had bought some sweet treats for teacher's day today too - good job, darling!

Thank God, our turn came and we were done by 5pm!! The trip was so smooth and we reached Peter and Jane at 5.20pm!! What the Chinese doctor said about me would be another post. Man, I didn't know I was so sick! I must get well, I am determine to get well!

husbands should be more understanding

Why can't husbands be more understanding and sensitive to their other halves? I have been ill for the last few days, dealing with that fever that comes and goes and just when I feel better today, I need to eat a nutritious meal. I had not eaten well last night since feeding a preschooler was already taken up much of my appetite. Plus, there wasn't seem to be enough to eat or was it the usual side effects of parenting without a maid. You tend to make sure your child gets the food first and you eat last and then by the time you are ready to eat, there isn't much left - know what I mean, mothers? Or either that, the food would be cold and not that tasty. Plus, I wasn't feeling that great to begin with.

So he doesn't think it was a good idea to go to the mall where some of the more nutritious foods can be found like fish porridge, vegetable clear soup, fish soup...etc. Anyways, I told him to go ahead to pack his own lunch and I'd take Clayton out instead. As expected, he changed his mind and decided to join us :) Guess he doesn't like to be left alone :P

fever and sick

Don't know why but I was suddenly hit with a fever yesterday after dinner. The back started to ache and I started to get chills. I was recovering from a cold but had no idea why the fever. I supposed the body was fighting an infection and yes, I jumped onto bed at 10plus - earliest ever!

Woke up to feel better and went BSC for lunch. Alexis was a nice place to hang around and I was surprised that DH actually suggested that since WIP was closed today. I didn't choose my favourite dish since I was recovering from fever but the Vietnamese beef noodles was alright.

A trip to Times bookstore to make Clayton happy sent me chills and body aches again. I knew that I had to head home. The fever was back and I had to sleep it off. Somehow, I'm feeling better except for the back aches now but I sure don't want to spend my weekends in bed :(

is outdoor furniture necessary?

The weather has been pretty bad lately. It's hot and humid and it's causing many people to fall sick. I always find it hard to figure out why do people want to spend so much on outdoor furniture here since the weather is terribly humid all year round. How comfortable can one in the porch when the sun is scorching? The interesting thing is, I have noticed many home with unused expensive outdoor furniture at the porch. Maybe it's just part of outdoor decorations, making the house 'more complete' visually to their neighbours and friends. Most of them end up as 'white elephants' in the long run and will eventually end up looking worn, washed and old.

Why God?

Something very sad happened this morning and the first thing I did was to ask 'Why, God'? It was a deal that was confirmed and on the very last hour, the CEO called it off so there goes the deal. It was frustrating and upsetting. I asked God why He allowed this to happen and it wasn't the first time. It was tempting to ask what went wrong and why was He withholding what I thought was good from us. We were so delighted, and giving thanks on Thursday and this morning, the news brought me tears and lots of disappointment.

There was a still small voice that asked 'What are you made of'? I told Him - I don't know. I'm trying hard to get over the matter. It's very, very painful. I cannot understand why.

google update again

So the google update was here again few days ago - sending some joy and some sorrow - as usual. Until now, there is still speculation of how to get a higher PR and how to avoid being demoted but the real truth is, you can never know unless you are Google. In the past, it's all about building links and the more backlinks you get, the better your chance in getting a higher PR. But I have also heard that some bloggers with stagnant and inactive sites had received PR by surprise. So, it's hard to tell, isn't it? You may be following all the rules yet you may not get a PR raise but to ensure a smooth PR journey, the best is probably to steer clear from paid links or posts...

I've been busy searching in the web for Tokyo accommodations. It's been quite known that most Tokyo hotel accommodations have smaller rooms unless you are paying for premier ones or suites but you can expect to pay alot more for those options.
