visit your dentist for good dental health

Are you afraid of the dentist? I am :P I don't like the sounds of the drilling and grinding of my teeth - yikes! But do you know that many of us have forgotten that we should visit the dentist regularly to keep that beautiful smile and maintain good dental health. You may think that brushing your teeth well is good enough but this is not necessary so. Having regular checks helps to ensure proper cleaning to prevent cavities and bad breath. So... will you mind the drilling and grinding for these good reasons?

teak furniture spells luxury

Anybody in for pool weddings and parties? I always think they are romantic and cool. Hanging around the pool, chatting with friends, decorating the area with plants and flowers and lighting candles in the nights. That's a perfect setting for a celebration!

But what you can't leave out is a nice set of teak furniture for your invited guests and friends. For special occasions like these, teak patio furniture adds that extra touch of luxury to the pool area. And you don't even need to worry about rains, winds or the strong sun rays. For a long time, teak furniture has always been linked to luxury and those with a discerning taste for quality. What matters when purchasing teak patio furniture is to ensure that you are getting the finest quality from a reliable source. Careful research pays in making your money worth.

choose the right holiday accommodation is key

I don't know about you but the choice of accommodation is my priority when I plan for our family vacation. This is because a nice accommodation can ensure a comfortable and memorable vacation and similarly, an accommodation that is far from expectations can be detrimental to your vacation fun.

So when it comes to choosing a holiday accommodation, I'll look out for photos and detailed information on the property. One good example is Think Florida, which displays more than a dozen photos for each of the Villa in Orlando. It also helps to take care of travelers' needs by including other services like car rental and ticket booking. What is important is renting a villa or condo directly with the site is cheaper than some of those Orlando packages. Booking direct also means more flexibility and better service in getting your vacation needs met.

how are you doing with your multiple niche blogs?

Don't know why but things are a little quiet for me this month at both Sponsored Reviews and Link worth. But after talking to few blogger friends, they seem to agree with this trend. Being a preferred partner at Linkworth, I definitely look forward to more linkposts and text link ads. In fact, I'm doing good at TEXT LINK ADS for my multiple niche blogs compared to Link Ads. Oh yes, I had a LinkSura and LinkMura last week and that was great! Though I had to get help from Ah Pek to install the LinkSura codes.. his explanation was so clear and easy - Linkworth should pay him for doing the support help :)

Let's hope for more Linkposts this month... more text link ads too for my multiple niche blogs, cos these are what we bloggers call - residual income :) How are you doing with your multiple niche blogs?

take time for a massage

I'm aching from my acupuncture and cupping treatments yesterday. My back was aching and leading to some discomforts on my right forearm. I'm wondering if it's due to too much blogging and those late nights, I felt like my body was running out of battery! I must say that these traditional massage treatments are great to tackle blood circulation issues as well as aches and pains. To me, it's better than those relaxing massages though it is equally nice to be pampered with those nice smelling essential oils in the spa. The best thing would be to do both and enjoy both experiences and treatments. That is beneficial for your overall health and well being. So take time to enjoy a massage when you can.

quality mailing lists help increase profits

In the last few months, many marketing companies have approached DH with the intention to send our marketing material to their mailing lists. As we appreciate the idea of targeted marketing, we are careful to choose the right companies that can offer us quality mailing lists and in our case, the business audience. Good Lists can help to generate more buzz for the business and increase conversion rates. Similarly, poor lists can mean poor returns and lead to unfavourable results. This is probably why Martin Worldwide, known for being the largest and successful list companies have acquired its strong reputation of quality lists for its clients. This is evident from the positive results that its clients have achieved from their campaigns.

internet connection failure again

It was another frustrating day - streamyx was down and I couldn't do much work at all. It seems that the internet technology has become a big part of our lives, so much so that when there is no network, we can feel paralyzed and all work seems to halt for a moment. This is definitely not something I like but is there a choice, really? Do you face the same frustrations when the internet connection is down?

time for home improvements again

I've been admiring my new neighbour's Double glazing window for quite a while. They look gorgeous and according to what I read in some window products brochures, I understand that they are easy to maintain and are more versatile. DH knows that I'm constantly looking for more home improvements to our 7 day old house so he's been pretending that he's not listening! But I can't stress enough the safety and attractive features of these double glaze windows since we have a little boy who knows how to turn those normal window handles now. Hopefully, he'll change his mind :P

Wordless Wednesday - Silence...

It doesn't happen all the time but this is one rare occasion that Clayton sits quietly with his book while we rush through lunch... in case he changes his mind... sometimes he can be such a cutie but other times, we'll be all over the place chasing him and getting him to follow the rules...

when in rome, you gotta do what the romans do!

For those of us who live in this part of the world, traveling to Europe can be an expensive affair. With the exchange rate of 1 Euro = RM4.76, you should budget well to ensure a nice and comfortable vacation, even if you plan to backpack. But if you are traveling as a couple or a family, be ready to set aside a good budget for the trip.

As for me, should I decide to travel to Europe, particularly Rome, I will make sure my research is done properly so that my Rome accommodation will be well chosen, since the hotel rates can be costly after conversion. Personally, I would prefer to stay in one of the Rome apartments since it is more cosy and has more room for my little boy. If you need to find a Rome accommodation, check out romaclick.com as most of their hotels on the site are centrally located with quality assured as they are carefully handpicked by Italy experts, Mauro and Paola. You can trust their recommendations as they have seen these accommodations and best of all, they live in Rome! So, you can ask them anything about Rome, specifiy exactly where you like to stay, what you want to see and they will direct you to the right accommodation. Like they always say, trust the experts!

my thoughts on climate change and our environment

Don't we love nice cars, new cars, fast cars, stylish cars? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that cos I enjoy these nice things in life too. They make life more fun, exciting and motivating. But have we thought about how our lives and daily living can have an influence in our environment and climate that we live in? With the climate change and global warming being the talking topic, don't we hope for cleaner fuel or more environmental conscious product that adds value to our lives? With all the burning that takes place in some countries, it is causing hazards to our lives as the results of burning led to haze problems and serious air pollution.

While watching the climate change video at Energy Policy TV's Climate Change Channel, it triggers some thoughts on what oil companies can do to make our environment a cleaner and healthier place to live. It's not just for us but for the good of our future generations, our children and for all living things on this earth.

tales of a mom and her sick child

Any mom will tell you that when her child is ill, she is stressed :( But the thing is once they start going to school, this will be a common occurrence and in fact, it's part of their growing experience too. It's just that it's heart sick hearing them cough and sneeze with discomforts of stuffy noses and excessive mucus. I'm thankful that Clayton still eats well and remains fairly active. The only challenge is the sleep part, as the cough will cause him anxieties and disturbed sleep, not to mention that the cold will cause so much discomforts :( Well, as a mom, besides supplementing him with immune boosting mixtures, all I can do is to pray, love him and love him more...

tranquil beauty of maui

I just watched a virtual tour of all the Hawaiian islands from a travel resource site and I was impressed with the bird's eye view of the islands. The waters looked so clear in the big and little beach in Maui island that I couldn't helped it but kept telling DH to watch it with me.

Maui looks serene, scenic, natural, friendly, exotic, casual and peaceful. From what I understand, it is not as busy as Waikiki and the beaches are definitely more captivating and unspoilt. While reading the Hawaiian vacation information, I was admiring some of the luxurious Maui condos and only wished we could stay in one of those. But since we have booked ourselves on the Pride of America, accommodation will be in the oceanview cabin.

Having read all the reviews, most tourists will base themselves in Oahu island and with the massive options on Oahu vacation rentals, it won't be hard to find a place to suit your budget and preferences.

my opinions on parenting

While reading an article on how teens and young adults are catching on with party drugs and all, it makes me think about how things are changing in this world. In the past, our childhoods were much simpler and we had no luxury of sidewalk cafes or lavished dining. But now, places like clubs and pubs are filled with young people, it's like the in-thing to hang out in these crowded and happening places. It is no wonder why that more and more drug treatment centers or drug rehab has opened up in the US.

Urban culture, modern living and super internet technology all come with a price - as parents, we need to be more vigilant in the way we guide and educate our children. Spend more time with them, nurture them with dedicated care and love and be a friend whom they can respect and open up to you.

stopping by Kauai via Pride of America

Looking at the itinerary of our 7 days Hawaii island cruise, one of the ports we'll be visiting is Kauai, the 4th largest main Hawaiian islands. I read that during the winter months (Dec through April), humpback whales can been seen in Kauai waters so I'm looking forward to capture these playful creatures as we cruise along. Moreover, I'm sure it'll be easy to spot them as we are in Deck 11 - the cruiseliner has a total of 14 decks.

Though we can't be staying in one of the Kauai vacation rentals, I'm sure we'll be taking note of the nice ones and hopefully, make a return trip in the future. As for our Oahu vacation rentals, it'll be great if we can travel with some friends or families next time as most of the vacation homes come with more than 2 bedrooms. For reviews of the vacation homes, check out the Hawaiian vacation information.

clean water and our health

I'm one person who is particular with drinking water since I have a sensitive throat and a history of allergies. In fact, I never knew the importance of how clean and filtered water is vital to our health until the last few years, when I attended a health talk by a naturopath. Since, we have invested in numeous water filters but sad to say, some of them are not good enough to do the job of purification but only filter the debris, mud and dirt; they don't kill bacteria or get rid of chlorine and other impurities. So, we resort to using water distillers.

I just found a website that provides a guide on home water filters which may be a great help if you are looking for one in your house. Clean, filtered and purified water is vital to our overall health as more than 70% of our body contains water. Be careful of the water you use in the shower too as your pores too can absorb whatever impurities the shower water is releasing.

cold and flu in the house

The cold and flu epidemic is on again, with the changing weathers - hot one moment, cold the next - and it seems it's hitting our home too. Clayton was coughing last night (poor boy) and I knew he must have gotten this from school - the downside of socializing... but well, their little bodies need to build the immune system so I just need to show him that extra care. But with the cold and cough, it's hard to get him to take some immune boosting supplements. Just praying that he'll recover fast and be up and kicking again!

chinatown in oahu island

Do you know that there is a Chinatown in Oahu island? Like the Chinatown in Malaysia and Singapore, I suppose it is a place filled with open-air markets, cart stores, restaurants, shops, galleries and Asian eats. I just read that Chinatown in Oahu is home to more than 30 galleries, the Hawaii theatre center, the Hawaii State Art Museum and the lively atmosphere of eateries, music and people. I don't think DH will fancy visiting Chinatown and neither do I. He is looking forward to some surf boarding lessons on Waikiki beach.

I did take a look at the Oahu vacation rentals but there weren't many Waikiki accommodations that were suited for our small family. Most of the vacation rentals are great for big groups as many of these homes have 3-5 bedrooms. Besides, we are not planning to stay outside Waikiki since we have only 7 days before going for our Hawaii cruise. I should check out the Hawaii travel blog for more activities nearby Waikiki so that we can save time on too much driving.

potty training with little success

Why doesn't someone tell me that it's not just terrible TWO that is hard to cope but it gets worse when toddlers reach three? I'm working on potty training Clayton and it hasn't been very successful. In fact, it is getting messy and frustrating. Sometimes, he can pretend he's not listening when I give him some firm instructions on what to do when he wants to poo and pee. I'm still thinking of ideas to succeed in this for life will be easier for us if he's potty trained before our Hawaii vacation. Mommies out there.... any tips on this?

looking forward to our Oahu adventures

Let me make a confession here. I used to think that Hawaii is just about Waikiki beach and nothing else. But a German friend of mine corrected me on this many years ago that Waikiki is in Honolulu and they both belong to the island of Oahu. Since I have not bothered about finding out more about Hawaii until I decide to make this our family vacation destination. For your info, I have attached a map of Oahu just to show you how big this island is.

Perhaps I should book us for a grand circle Oahu island tour just to get a good overview of the different sights and views around the island. I'm definitely keen to go on the Atlantis Oahu Submarine Adventure where the submarine descends 100 feet below the water surface. I can imagine the fun we can have as a family.

I have confirmed our accommodation in Hawaii after looking through all the Oahu vacation homes in the web. The Hawaii Travel Information has provided some great insights on the Hawaiian islands and accommodation reviews that would be useful for anyone planning to travel to this beautiful island.

Vacationing in The Great Southland

While some many prefer to travel to busy cities like Sydney to enjoy some designer retail therapy, others like myself love the little local crafts markets on the weekends in Perth. Talk to anyone who has been to Perth and they will tell you the charm and casual atmosphere in Fremantle, Western Australia. I believe Adelaide is just Perth in some ways - tranquil, casual, slow, peaceful and relaxing. The wineries seem to be the talk among avid wine lovers and many visitors are heard boasting about Adelaide's art and culture scene.

Though I only spent a few days in Sydney on our last trip to Australia, I enjoy hanging around at the Sydney harbour on the weekends. There was so much cheer, happiness and excitement going on in the area as diners packed the sidewalk cafes and people sitting around enjoying the cool sights of the harbour. Whether you are in a small city like Adelaide or Perth, a big one like Sydney or Melbourne, Perth hotels are affordable if you do your homework carefully online. Sydney accommodation can cost a little bit more if you want to be in the heart of the city where the malls and shopping streets are. I believe Adelaide hotels rates are cheaper as compared to the ones in Sydney and it all depends on what accommodation style you are after.

Well, Perth, Adelaide or Sydney, send me a flight ticket and I wouldn't mind any - Australia feels like home for me... it's just a great place to visit and to live.

why we don't keep pets

Since we don't keep pets at home, Clayton's only opportunity to get close to these cute little creatures is a visit to the pet shop. It has become a routine that when we visit the mall, a visit to his favourite pet shop will be part of the itinerary. My poor urban city boy...

Well, the main reason why we aren't keeping pets is because we have no time for these canines. Personally, I believe that if you have a pet, say a dog for instance, you should make time to walk you dog, bathe it, take good care of it and not treat it a guard dog. I know of dog owners who won't allow their dogs to step into the home compound but be confined in a cage. That, to me, is cruelty. I hope that these owners have not forgotten to get a pet insurance for their dogs too.

From our friends who own dogs, we know that it is be an expensive affair when their dogs fall sick. In order to minimize vet costs, a comprehensive pet insurance is necesary. This is a kind of protection plan when the pets get sick, lost or have an accident. Companies such as Marks & Spencer can insure pets from just 2 months old. Like I said before, it is better safe than sorry so getting your pet insured with a good plan can save you hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars.

can colloidal silver replace conventional antibiotic?

I’m not one of those who run to the doctor when I’m down with a cold, fever, headaches or cough. Reason being I don’t like to dose myself with drugs and medications especially antibiotics. It wasn’t long that I learned that antibiotics destroy both the good and bad bacteria of the body. And when that happens, your body may not be strong enough to fight those germs and viruses as the good bacteria which helps to do the job is not present. So, I make sure that a have a dose of bifidus or yoghurt when I’m on antibiotics.

According to research, the natural health practioners have regarded colloidal silver as nature’s antibiotic. Colloidal silver has a long history which explains why it has been used to purify substances and treat a host of ailments. It is also found that colloidal silver contains anti fungal and anti viral properties and is used to fight disease and heal many skin related conditions.

a cool device named Temperature@lert

I used to work in a multimedia environment where the room is dark most of the time with servers, computers, 3D graphic machine, printers all housed in one place. The only reason why I quit working in a place like that was because I could not withstand the stuffiness and the heat on those days when the air con failed to work. I only wished the Temperature@lert USB Sensor with Email Alerts was invented at that time as it would help to monitor the temperature of the multimedia room and avoid those discomforts. It was unpleasant to work in a room like that and somehow, the boss didn't think it was a big problem.

Temperature@lert is linked to the PC via a USB port and will alert the user via a windows application when the temperature is not within your desired range.

I thought it would be great to use this in a flower cold room or an organic shop cold room where coolness is key to the freshness of the products. This can help to keep products at optimum quality and the owner can be alerted should anything go wrong the temperature of the cold room.

a humble sweet potato makes a great snack

Sometimes a quick snack or lunch for me is a steamed sweet potato. This humble spud is stuffed with anthocyanin, a flavanoid which helps fight heart disease. These days, it is available in many varieties - red skinned ones, orange skin and just pale beige ones. For steaming, I prefer the red skinned ones and would use the orange and yellow ones for boiling as a sweet dessert. Try not to add any sugar and boil with some honey dates. It is healthier and taste yummy too.

the best all inclusive mexico vacations

Now that DH says we can't go to Las Vegas, I am sourcing for other short getaways during our week's stay in LA. Besides San Diego and Santa Barbara, I'm thinking about one of those beautiful an all-inclusive Mexico Vacations that promise a 'real' vacation with personal butlers to ensure distinct service at every corner. Most of these properties at Karisma hotels and resorts are adults only resorts and it is not hard to understand why. With the romantic settings and tranquil atmosphere, the rooms and suites are created to ensure the best honeymoon or anniversary you plan to celebrate.

But Azul Blue Hotel in Riviera Maya allows children if you really do need to bring the kiddies along. With a dedicated butler to every luxury suite, you can sink into pure relaxation as he takes care of the suitcase nad the babysitter keeps your children busy with some wholesome children's activities. The Azul Blue's s[a is said to be the most complete one on the Riviera Maya, this is the time to spoil yourself rotten and invigorate your senses with the soothing treatments.

Unlike the other Karisma properties which are exclusively for adult guests, Azul creates convenience for those with families too. Some cool services to create a truly unique vacation experience include baby and children essentials such as strollers, cribs, baby milk heaters, beach games, coloring books, refrigerators for milk and medicines. I'm sure special arrangements can be made for a babysitter too.

other benefits of olive oil

Don't think that olive oil is used only in Italian cooking :) It is known as a great skin and hair moisturizer. A research centre in Philadelphia has discovered that olive oil is also a natural painkiller. It can help to reduce the risk of heart attack, strokes, some cancers and Alzheimer's disease. Problem is you can take olive oil to cure a nagging headache but you will need about 43 tablespoons of it to match the strength of a regular adult painkiller. That means you may lose the headache but gain some extra pounds!

make efforts to boost your mind

Sometimes we spend lots of time toning our body but we forget that our minds need toning and boosting too. For your mental wellbeing, try this simple exercise at the end of the day:

Write down something good that happened to you that day in your journal. Then, note down any action you took that may have led to that positive event. Sometimes, you need to know how to take credit for yourself!

krillion search engine does the niche search

The mistake I made when we moved into our first home was not buying a bigger refrigerator. I remembered a friend's advice on this but I was ignorant about it. Five years later, I told DH that we need a bigger refrigerator since we would be expecting a new addition to the family. It took me more than six months to convince him that we need one that was more spacious and bigger compartments.

What I wished at that time was a place where I could find out which stores carried the refrigerator models that I was looking. For convenience reasons, I bought the refrigerator near my house but if there is a search engine that could show me other local stores that carried that brand and model I was looking form, that would be ideal. Though there are many search engines available in the web now, there is none that presents niche results on just electrical goods. But Krillion was launched to fill this gap. Not only does it present the information of major appliances, it actually show you where you can find the particular model and stock in your local stores. That helps to save you time from driving around looking for the model you are after.

If I could turn back the clock, I would buy one of these sleek and spacious KitchenAid Refrigerators. Imagine the amount of stuff I can store in a 3-door fridge like this!

some quick facts on cancer

There is never a time like now to stay focus on our health. I believe we have all heard enough stories of cancer patients in the recent years. Do you know that one in four of us will contract cancer in our lifetime? Scary huh? The most common cancer is breast cancer in women and lung cancer in men. And it seems that the most vulnerable age group seems to be 40 and over, increasing with age.

the goodness of consuming shitake mushroom

I'm very thankful that Clayton enjoys a variety of vegetable and fruits with a particular liking for mushrooms, jackfruit and rambutans! We eat alot of shitake mushrooms in the house as it is known to contain vitamin B12 and anti-carcinogenic compound. The Japanese eats alot of them and actually Shitake mushroom can be versatile in cooking as compared to other kinds of mushrooms. it is a nice ingredient for steamboat, barbeque, pizza topping, stir fries...etc. Some people eat them raw but I find it a little bland and uninteresting :) Shitake mushroom is also a rich source of friendly bacteria and it contains antiseptic and anti viral properties.

DH's dream as a profitable options trader

Last week, DH came to me beaming with smiles on his face. I asked him what happened and he told me that he made some money in options trading. In the last 5 years, DH has been trading options and it hasn't been something I am pleased about. If you are not familiar with options, you probably don't know that you need to acquire the skills and experience to make money from it. Above all, discipline is key. Sadly, DH didn't have these qualities last time so he lost alot of money in options trading. And the main problem was greed.

Due to the heavy losses over two years, I banned him from trading so he was paper trading since. Recently, he started again after promising me that he would take it slow and keep me updated on his progress. I believe DH is aware that options trading software like PowerOptions provides traders the ability to find, make comparisons, analyze and make money in options trading. Utilizing the SmartSearchXL® patented technology, it helps traders to spot option trades that bring highest returns. DH can testify that a reliable support is necessary to get the most out of any trading software as all transactions are done online. I believe option traders can appreciate this feature in all aspects of their trading processes.

travel tips: preventing motion sickness 2

This is a continuation of our travel tips on how to prevent motion sickness:

3) Do not read or focus on a stationary object. Keep your eyes on the horizon or the scenery in front of you, not to the side.

4) Try to get as much fresh air as possible. For eg., you can keep the car windows open or sit on the ship's deck.

5) Ginger is an effective remedy for nausea so chew on candied or preserved ginger.

6) If you are travelling by car, offer to drive. The person at the wheel hardly gets motion sickness.

travel tips: preventing motion sickness

I used to get motion sickness when I was younger but somehow, I grew out of it in my teengage years. In the next few of posts, I'll be sharing some tips on how to prevent motion sickness:

1) Avoid heavy, oily and spicy foods before leaving on your trip. The urge to throw up is caused by excess bile so a light and plain snack can helped to overcome this discomfort.

2) If travelling by car, train or boat, stay in a position near the front of the vehicle where there is less motion. On an airplane, request for a seat over the wing of the plane and avoid the tail section. On a ship, get a cahin hear the middle of the craft, close to the waterline where there is less rolling and pitching.

learn from real parents at lila guide

How many of you know that being a mom is not an easy task? We make most decisions pertaining to the child from feeding to nutrition, from hygiene to attire, from schools to outings...etc. But the best way to learn as a mom is to read about other mom's reviews and experiences. I remembered learning so much from those mommies' forums on my first year of being mom to Clayton. Until today, I still read real reviews from other moms on what is the best feeder cup, where to buy organic skincare for children, where to find good children's shoes...etc

If you like to read real reviews by real moms, check out the lila guide who serves as an informative stop for moms looking for resources and help. You can read just about any reviews on anything pertaining to babies, children, baby stores, children's products, education, kids' furniture, toys...etc. At lila guide, you know that all reviews are by moms who have been there and done that, so you can learn from others and avoid any costly mistakes.

NOD32 - the best in computer security

Yesterday morning, DH received an email from one of our business associates. But when he saw that the subject title was left empty and there was an attachment to the email, he was skeptical about opening it. These days, there are all sorts of virus and they are annoying. We both had experienced computer crashes due to viruses planted by spammers and spies.

It came to my attention that NOD32 is the next up and coming security software that can protect computers and files from these risks and attacks. To date, the software has won raving reviews and tested to be the best in its respective security software categories. Most importantly, the software is quick to detect any unknown viruses coming into your computer system and upholds your computer security to the highest.

have you driven a ford car before?

I could recall the excitement and joy the day I got my driving license. It felt great to know how to drive! It was those young women's thing at that time and I called out some close friends for a celebration! For a long time I didn't have a car until I stepped out of the working world. Being a young graphic designer, I could only afford used cars so I borrowed some money from my parents and shared an used Ford with my brother. We looked through the classified ads and after a few viewings, we finally bought a Ford Focus 1.6 Lx from one of the Ford dealers.

Being a hatchback with power assisted steering, the Ford Focus was easy to manoeuvre and drive around. Other than some occasional screeching from the brakes, it was an used car that served both my brother and myself for more than 5 years. At 1.6 Lx, it wasn't as powerful as some Japanese car models, but the price was affordable and it seemed to save on petrol too. If I could recall, we only had to send it to the mechanics twice, one occasion was to fix the electric windows which wouldn't move up and down smoothly and the other problem was the car brakes.

We were thankful not to experience any accidents during that 5+ years except for some gentle knocks and dents. On one occasion, I ramped up a big kerb and almost thought I had lost the tyres but to my surprise, the car drove off fine except for some scratches on the rear door. Looking back, my brother got mad and banned me from touching that car for a fortnight.

We had both moved on to driving other cars now but the used car we shared brought us much memories of siblings bonding and the good old days of growing up. Have you driven a Ford before?

thoughts on parenting and co-sleeping

Some of my friends have been asking if I have trained Clayton to sleep in his own room. While I don't see the urgency to do that at this moment, the time will come when he should sleep on his own, have his own space and be more independent. By then, we may consider getting him a new set of kid's furniture, change the colour of his room, make it fun and attractive and let him get cosy. Personally, I think bunk beds are great since it's more flexible and allows room for another person. I grew up sleeping in one of these when I was young and was constantly arguing with my brother on who should take the top bed.

For now, I'm happy to keep Clayton in our room and cuddle him as much as I can... it won't be long that he will walk up to me and ask for his own room :)

have you started to create multiple niche blogs?

It was another morning surprise as my dear friend, Stuart was so kind to give me a mention after I told him that I had ranked No. 1 on Multiple Niche Blogs... Stuart is an internet marketing coach who will be here to share about corporate branding in an online world, which is another niche topic that bloggers should learn, especially if you are serious about building multiple niche blogs. Like I said before, we all need to start somewhere and to start your multiple niche blogs journey, you should first ask yourself where your interest lies, then conduct your research before starting a multiple niche blog. This is another weekend, it's a good time to do some thinking and topics finding... have you started to create multiple niche blogs yet?

book luxury vacation rentals directly

Well, it looks like we aren't going to Las Vegas as DH is complaining that it's a long a drive 'for him'. There goes my Bellagio fountain and my longing to snap photos of all the nice architectural hotels. Our cousin suggests that we should consider San Diego which I am right now. I had been to San Diego once but it was a short day trip and didn't have time to explore the city. Perhaps this time, we can spend a few days in San Diego and I'm looking forward to check out La Jolla and Coronado.

It is so timely that I stumble upon some nice San Diego vacation rentals from Goin2Travel.com and this ocean view condo seems like a great place for our family getaway! With Mission Beach at just a stone's throw away, DH can practice his surf boarding and I can build sand castles with Clayton... that sounds like a real holiday :) But it looks like I would need to rent it for a week after reading the full description and information of the San Diego condo.

energy drink creating a revolution in the web

Whenever anyone tells me about a new health product, I will be all ears. For many years now, I've always been interested in the area of health and fitness and became an organic food and products follower after my first detox in 2002. That explains why I started a health blog too.

I just heard that a new energy drink A.C.T. is revolutionizing the energy drink marketplace. The differenc between A.C.T. and other energy drinks in the market is that it is natural and does not contain caffeine anhydrous and added sugar. With added nutrients from fruits and vegetables in crystalline extract form, it is blended with A.C.T. ingredients to give positive results. Unlike most energy drinks that last only a couple of hours, A.C.T. is said to create optimum results that last for hours. The interesting thing is you are rewarded by introducing the drink to your friends. From the website, I understand that many have won attractive rewards by sharing the health energy drink to their friends. Well, I have yet to try the product but the story of A.C.T. sure interests me. Are you ready to join the revolution now?

steel frame metal buildings and termites don't mix

A common worry for those who live in a landed property is termites problem. I have heard that some people spent thousands of dollars just to get rid of termites and yet, some have not had no success destroying these pests. While visiting my auntie's house few years ago, I recalled her havings little poles sticking out of her garden. Later, I found out that those are placed there by the termite control people.

I suppose this is why many homeowners are choosing metal buildings to avoid this problem. Besides, metal buildings are sturdy, durable and can easily withstand harsh weather conditions. Besides, good quality metal buildings will not rot nor burn, and steel frames price is cheaper with wood. In other words, you save money from steel frame metal buildings and enjoy the peace of mind that they won't be home to the termites.

As the popular saying goes, "Good things don't come for free". True? Not really. The online world has provided us lots of learning opportunities for FREE and some of these are the best material that are not easily available in the offline world.

Today, I finally had a chance to chat with my best friend whom I know for 23 years. She was telling me about her coming trip to Melbourne and that her husband is planning to buy a landed property for their coming migration. This reminded me that in a few years' time, DH and myself would need to think about real estate investing in Australia. And the time to learn real estate investment is NOW.

Learning how to invest in real estate, the techniques, strategies and tools are available to you for FREE at PEI University. With the step by step online program, you can be one of those who bought and sold over $242 million in real estate. August ends, here comes September!

Happy Merdeka... it's another holiday and as usual, I try sleeping in a little. For people who work from home, it's hard to tell a holiday from another working day. But somehow, when it's a holiday or a weekend, your mind tends to be more relaxed and it's normal to ease things a little. For a blogger, there is no holidays :) There are so much to report, share and tell everyday...

Being month's end, I sense a little quietness in my mailbox. Similarly, I slow down and spend more time with my boy. The month of August is ending soon... here comes September, another month of exciting things and great adventures!

Search information LIVE on My Live Search

As I'm writing this post, I have more than five windows open on my Mozilla Firefox of which two of them are online travel sites as I'm comparing hotel rates of a condo in hawaii. I realize that I have been relying alot on search engines in the last few years.

Whether it's finding information on children's products, resources on health, sourcing for business speakers for our events, recipes, shopping sites, blogs... I am so dependent on online information. It's fast, convenient and FREE! What if you can search LIVE for a particular product or news or information? Here comes the beta version of mylivesearch search engine where you can search for information LIVE and not that of yesterday, last week or month. All you need to do is to download the plug-ins to you Internet Explorer or Firefox in Windows Vista, XP and Windows 2000. Mac users like this would have to wait for the plug in :(

a glance at australia vacations

sunset at fremantle harbour

Some of my friends think that Clayton is a fortunate boy. He took his first plane trip when he was barely one year old and last year, we took him to Perth. Australia remains a country that is very close to my heart as I did my postgraduate in Curtin Uni for a year and a half.

My favourite past time was to have a takeaway lunch with my research books in South Perth, along the famous Swan River. On sunny days, I would take the bus to Cottesloe for a nice cup of coffee and on weekends, Fremantle markets was my favourite. The wildflower festival that takes place every year in Kings Park is worth a visit if you love exotic and wildflowers. It will be nice if I can revisit Perth during the International Arts Festival. For some reason, I'm always out of the country during the feb/march period.

As I'm writing this post, I'm missing Perth again. Alot of people have lots of misconceptions of this lovely city. They say it's boring, slow, too quiet... but hey, it's a great place to live! Unlike Sydney which has a lot more people, designer boutiques and definitely busier, Perth is less busy and should I say - peaceful - lol. I do like Sydney too. We did the Bridge Climb few years ago when we were visiting a couple of our friends. The Opera House and Sydney Harbour were my favourite landmarks. I only wished we had more time exploring New South Wales.

I haven't been to Adelaide and I should when we migrate to down under in a few years' time. Well, if you are visiting any of these lovely cities, hotels in Perth are categorized in various classes, depending on your budget and personal style. We prefer to stay in the serviced apartments as it's nice to have a kitchen where we can prepare light meals. Eating all three meals in Australia can be costly for a family of three :)

Travel sites like Cheaperthanhotels offers good deals for hotels in Adelaide, Sydney, Tasmania, Melbourne accommodation and all other suburbs and states. You can search for a hotel in Margaret River or a bed and breakfast in Victoria at the site, it is easy to navigate with the powerful search tools on the site.

Make money niche blogs, text link ads niche blogs... what else?

In the last few months, I have been visiting many niche blogs in and around the worldwide web. It looks like many bloggers are starting make money niche blogs, text link ads niche blogs and internet marketing niche blogs. While I find the topics of discussion insightful and informative in some of these niche blogs, alot of them have content that are copied or duplicated. What it means is that, some bloggers will follow some popular make money niche blogs and duplicate the information found on these niche blogs. There is no originality, only a little revision and rephrase on the content.

While there is no right and wrong in this manner of writing niche blogs (not considered plagiarism unless the entire amount or certain amount of content is copied), it gets boring after a while. Text link ads niche blogs are rising in popularity as more and more text link ads companies are launched. While everyone is geared towards making money from blogging, let us not forget to contribute quality content to our readers. This makes niche blogging more fun and meaningful. Agree?

online resource for life insurance matters

In the past, the subject on life insurance sounded foreign to our folks but not today. More and more people are aware of the important of life insurance and its benefits. The focus is not always on the person insured but caring for the needs of the person's family members. At least, that is the reason why I bought a life insurance plan.

It gets better when you can read up more information on life insurance and compare quotes before committing yourself to any. With questions like term life quotes, return of premium quotes, universal life quotes, whole life quotes and survivor life quotes, they can be confusing to a layman. Lifeinsure.com is an online resource to answer to all your life insurance needs. From the website, you can increase your knowledge in life insurance, compare quotes, get quotes and read articles on life insurance.

So that explains why whenever there is a huge travel fair going on, the exhibition hall will be packed with lots of avid travelers, who are all ready to grab some cheap and discounted airfares for their trips. To be honest, I stay out of these fairs. I don't like the pushing and noisy crowd, not that kind, if you know what I mean.

a whole new vacation experience in The Bahamas

You can tell by my previous posts that I'm all passionate about travel. Every year, I will plan for a long vacation for the family and picking a destination is fun. For a long time, I have been thinking about a vacation to the Bahamas and the Caribbean islands, especially when I flip through those travel vacation magazines or watch the Top 10 best beaches shows on Discovery Channel.

Without much elaboration, most people know what to expect from a Bahamas vacation. Idyllic beaches, sweeping waves, clear blue skies, turquoise blue waters, golden sunsets, island cruising, all inclusive vacations, luxury resorts, snorkeling, diving trips...etc. What I really want is to do a Bahamas cruise. I have seen them the Bahamas cruise itinerary on some cruise sites and it looks like a real indulgence if you are a lover of the seas. Since I can't unwind the clock and plan for a honeymoon to the Bahamas, I can propose this for our 10th wedding anniversary. Being an ocean enthusiast, I don't think DH will mind a bit, as long as he is kept in the dark about how much a luxury Bahamas vacation will cost.

children and their powerful minds

I never know a three year old can pick things up so fast, sometimes it scares me. Something fell one day and I yelled out, "Oh My God!" My little boy was there but he said nothing except staying focused on his cars and train set. Few days later, his toys fell on the floor and I heard him exclaimed, "OMG!" I was stunned... and embarrassed. I felt guilty. From that day onwards, I'm careful about what I say and do as I have understood that little minds are like sponges... they absorb fast and well, both good and bad stuff. This incident has taught me to be a more responsible parent because our children look up to us and we are to set examples for them to follow.

expert tips to finding used cars

I smell a conflict in the air... every other month, DH and myself will have this conflict about "who gets to use the car". Since the beginning of this year, I have been talking him into getting him a second car to avoid this 'car' conflict and though he agreed at that time, he changed his mind not long after. DH is a great believer of used cars. He doesn't subscribe to the idea of fast depreciation on new cars. The thing is looking for a good and reliable used car dealer can be challenging at times.Well, I guess that's what a niche site like Auto Guide is for. This is the place to find the used car that fits not just your budget, but with its powerful Guided Search System, you can choose the colour, style, mileage, location, and even one that fits your lifestyle! How cool is that!

With colourful photos and sellers' details, you are not kept in the dark on the purchase. Whether it's a Honda or a BMW, it is helpful to get expert tips on advice on what to look for when purchasing used cars. The website is full of useful information including video and audio reviews by the automotive expert, Bobby Likis.

savouring on the luxury of Turtle Bay Resort

DH almost fell off the chair when I told him that I booked a beachfront studio suite that carries a nightly rate of $1,024 a night. Well, this studio room at the luxurious Turtle Bay Resort features five miles of beachfront that includes the beauty of Kawela Bay, Bay View Beach Lawn and of course Turtle Bay. It's at least 45 minutes away from the busy tourist scene of Honoluly and right here, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the North Shore and spectacular ocean views from every room.

But I am just teasing him. This rate is too much for our family's Hawaii vacation, won't mind it if it is a second honeymoon - lol. Hawaiian vacations can be enjoyed in many ways and styles. You can decide from a relaxing one or a high energy one that involves surf boarding or parasailing, which I will be doing. I have been spending my late nights reading up some Hawaiian Local Travel Information since my day is filled with too much distractions. The excitement is building up as the month comes to an end... that means we are closer to our Hawaii vacation!

great water adventures at the Big Island

Oh yes, we are going to Kona and I'm excited to take Clayton on this cool submarine expedition! This is an unforgettable 35-minute journey aboard an Atlantis 48-passenger submarine, and you may remember seeing it in featured in National Geographic television. Clayton will be so happy to see these colourful sea creatures at a depth up to 100 feet! He has seen it in Little Einstein's TV but very soon, he can experience it for real!

If you are planning for a trip to Kona, here are lots of nice Big Island vacation rentals to choose from. You can also find more travel ideas and tips at the Hawaiian Travel Blog if you are planning on your Hawaii itinerary. Some of these vacation rental homes in Big Island have the best oceanfront views and they do command a higher price. But the scenery of the Big Island is as dramatic as the setting sun, which glows with an enchanting beauty as the ocean beckons. This is what a real vacation is all about, isn't it? To behold the beauty of Mother Nature and all of its surrounds.

luggage online store for your travel needs

How timely! I was just talking to DH about buying a new luggage for Hawaii vacation this December. There is a difference between DH and me. He tends to go for 'no brand' luggage and I believe in quality and durable ones, even if they cost a little more. The problem with 'no brand' luggage is the quality of the material, zip and manufacturing process. And when you have a luggage with a broken zip during your trip, it is frustrating and annoying, and risky!

So, when I came across Innovation Luggage, I was delighted... just when I needed one for our Hawaii trip. The cool thing about this online luggage online store is that you can even find travel tips and articles, and there is one article that mentions Oahu... and that is where we will be based!

Since we are planning to bring only ONE luggage for three of us (we are advised to only bring one and buy one more in the US... our aunt knows that we will be returning home with two luggages - lol), we need one that has wheels, big enough for three of our stuff, easy to bring around and durable. The selections at this luggage online store is fabulous! There are all sorts of luggages - duffles, backpacks, hardside luggages, canvas luggages, garment bags, kids' luggages, totes, plus other travel accessories. You can shop by category or by brand. All luggages are displayed clearly in colour photos and detailed description and the best thing is the websale prices are alot cheaper than retail! Another thing unique to the site is that there are ratings to each bag and you get to read comments/reviews by real consumers. That is such a great idea. This helps to avoid buying a product that doesn't live up to its expectations.

blog directory by alive directory

I just had a discussion with my internet marketing coach about the new blog directory that is launched by Alive Directory. Unlike the thousands of directories in the web, this is one that is not free. With options of regular links, featured links, deep links, you can choose to pay yearly or place the links permanently. Permanent links will definitely cost more than the yearly ones so it all depends on what you need and your budget. My coach has submitted to hundreds of directories to gain my web presence and traffic for his sites. Well, if you are serious about being a pro blogger, directory submission is one area you need to seriously consider.

multiple niche blogs are fun and exciting!

This is getting more and more exciting! I will be receiving some natural make up sample from another online store. It is fun to do reviews like this - real reviews and I don't charge for it :) This, I guess is the perks of blogging and it's something not many people enjoy. But for a shopping like me who owns multiple niche blogs, including a shopping one - this is good fun!

So if you have a nice product which you believe will benefit my readers here, drop me a note and I may consider doing a review for you for FREE :)

attractive hotel deals in South Africa

When Tracy came back from South Africa few months ago, she had so much to tell us. She had taken lots of lovely photos of her trip, visiting the national parks, spending quality time with her close friends and enjoying fine taste of South African wines. I was told that driving in South Africa is rather safe as the roads are well paved and the transport infrastructure is well established. Like most countries, all motorists need to possess a valid driving license and they are not talked on the cell phone while on the road. Common sense and extra care should be observed to avoid any unnecessary mishaps or accidents.

South Africa remains a popular spot for international tourists and hotels in Johannesburg are in abundance. For budget travelers, the two and three star hotels are available around ZAR600 and most holiday makers would probably choose to stay near the city for easy accessibility. Hotels in Cape Town are just as easy to find and there are last minute and all years specials available at CheaperThanHotels. The online hotel booking site is easy to navigate and all the nightly rates of each hotel is displayed on the destination page. Whether you are searching for hotels in Sandton or other South Africa cities, you would have no difficulties finding a hotel that fit your budget.

search for discount hotels in London

London has so much to offer whether you are a first time visitor or one who has been there many times. Everytime when I hear friends talking about London and its attractions, I will nudge my DH and remind him that we must visit London one of these days. Few weeks ago, a good friend had visited London for the first time while her husband was sent there for work. She had such a great time that I knew she would like to book another visit soon!

There are lots to see and do in London. Choose from a driving itinerary to a shopping one, check out the cycling itineraries, history tours, spa and pampering packages, sightseeing and train itineraries, whatever you like - the options are limitless! For me, I will definitely make time to visit all the
famous department stores and international labels, local designer boutiques and High Street chain stores. A shopping itinerary will include a visit to these streets: Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, New Bond Street and Jermyn Street.

When visiting Great Britain, look for great hotel deals at Cheaper than hotels, an online travel site offering hotels in London, from 1 star - 5 stars in all various locations. The options at cheaperthanhotels present both last minute and all year discounted deals that make shopping for your accommodation hassle-free and easy. If you are looking for hotels in Birmingham and hotels in Manchester, this is also a great site to start your search. I've recommended this site to some friends and they have good things to say about the hotel rates. Now it's yours to check it out.

submit your multiple niche blogs to directory

Directory submission is not a new topic among bloggers, especially active and probloggers. It is wise to submit your multiple niche blogs to directories, which will help to increase web traffic and your presence in the search engines. Submitting your multiple niche blogs or multiple niche sites is a great way to gain web presence. For companies who are marketing products and service, this is another cheap but effective channel of advertising and promotion. It increases your chances of being found by potential clients or customers.

Branching out from Alive Directory sees the introduction of
Alive blog directory, a directory submission for blogs only. Like its parent source, you can submit your multiple niche blogs to the relevant categories and choose from the options of yearly or permanent listing. Deep linking options are also available at a fee as the SEO experts have agreed that deep linking is an effective way to optimize a site. Rates start from $29.95/year for regular with reciprocal submission and featured listings cost between $59.95 - $74.95, the latter one includes the addition of five more links.

Post on Multiple Niche Blogs ranked No.1 at Google!

I was shocked to see this last night but what a pleasant surprise! I have never looked seriously into monetizing on keywords on titles and blog posts but from now, I will! Thanks to my new friend, Vedis, who asked that I joined her for some good blogging fun on mutiple niche blogs and it worked. Here you go... this blog appeared No.1 on Page 1 on Google Search last night.

your one-stop resource for moving to an apartment

Has anyone moved to a new city or town by myself, whether it's for education, business or other personal reasons? Anyone gone through the process of searching for apartment, moving your things over, your car, finding a room mate, locating a good and efficient real estate agent?

I did that when I was moving to Perth for my postgraduate studies and the experience was frantic. At that time, there was no internet technology to tap on so it was very manual and time consuming. Moving to an apartment doesn't have to be difficult if you are equipped with the right resources and information. Here's is a useful guide for anyone who is planning on moving to an apartment or researching for a good house mate. There is even a page of helping you how to identify the right and suitable room mates! The website has more than 6 million apartments to rent all over the US so it won't be hard to find one that fits your budget and specifications. Let the moving guide help you to find the right mover, storage company, contractor and getting settled.

how about a luxurious Hawaii travel experience?

Would you spend $1,000 a night for studio suite for a family of three for a vacation? Well, I don't live in a lifestyle of the rich and famous so the obvious answer for me is 'no' :) But well, if you can afford a Hawaii rental house, whether it's owned by a hotel group or privately owned, go for it! For that cost per night, you can expect an oceanfront room with distinct standards in service, comforts and style. The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort offers the famous Heavenly bed with whirlpool tubs and a gourmet kitchen and luxurious amenities. I can only say that if you want to spend your honeymoon in a luxurious place like this, don't just book it for a night cos it won't be suffice to complete your experience.

For more Hawaii travel info on luxurious stays and selections in all the islands, read the blog at Hawaiian beach rentals.

love those maui vacation homes

Did I tell you we are heading to big bear cabin for New Year's eve? This is all going to be exciting. I believe the kids are going to have great fun as all four of them hang around in one big cabin. I can also imagine the kind of noise they will make. Well, how I wish Anne and Francis' family can join us for our Hawaii vacation. How nice if we can all rent one of the nice, cosy Maui vacation homes together? This is a wonderful way to catch up with each other since we don't see each other as often as we want to.

We will be visiting Maui via the cruise which means we don't need to worry about where to put up during our 2 days in Maui. I have read reviews in the Hawaiian Local Travel Blog about the beautiful waters and idyllic beaches at Maui. Many travelers from other travel forums rave about the friendly locals and relaxing ambience in Maui. It sounds like we are going to have a great time!

designer taps for new bathrooms

How many of you have husbands who are house proud? Sadly, mine isn't. DH doesn't quite bother about how things are like in the house as long as there is nothing major to be done, especially when it comes to furnishings. We are quite different in many ways :) I like nice furnishings whether it's for living room, dining area or bathroom. I've been hoping to change our bathroom design and that includes even the taps in all the bathrooms. These days, Taps come in all sorts of designs and styles, from minimalist to designer to classic to traditional ones. Here is one cool Amber Hola tap that will add such a nice touch to a contemporary bathroom. I would convince DH to install a new bathroom cabinet and a nice shower curtain will be great to dress up the entire bathroom.

I am hoping that DH will change his mind about furnishings after looking at these collections at taps4less.com... if you want a new bathroom, check out the online store for more.

How many Multiple Niche Blogs do you have?

It seems no surprise that more and more bloggers are starting multiple niche blogs these days. This topic by itself is not new but I have only come to notice this very recently... I'm a late boomer, you see :) Multiple niche blogs mean having blogs of specialized topic whether it's a blog on bags, shoes, fashion, shopping, electronics, beauty, technology, making money, internet marketing, pens, food recipes, digital gadgets, health and fitness, paying credit card debts (like my friend, Vedis), reviews, children, parenting, travel, home based business, relationships... the list goes on.

Personally, I have now 5 active blogs:
Home Office Women
Doris Goes Shopping
Passionate about Travel
Organic and Your Health

Plus this one.... I take my hats off those who can run 6, 10 and even a dozen blogs... 5 blogs and I'm finding it hard to manage. It's not easy if you are not doing this full-time. For me, I have a home based business, a parent to an active toddler so 5 blogs are plenty for now.

How many multiple niche blogs do you have?

check out this inspirational blog

Just as I am thinking of ways to spruce up my home office, I came across some great ideas at the inspirational blog of Karl Moore who shares about his love for his office. Well, this got me thinking... do I love working in my home office? Sometimes, we can get so used to the same table arrangements, the same wall colour, the mundane of work flow that we can lose the passion and love for our work space.

Well, Karl has some simple and wonderful suggestions in his post, 'I love my office' to inspire and motivate you to regain that passion again. Among all his ideas, I am reminded of how pictures of inspirational quotes can help me stay focused. Good ventilation is equally important to circulate air in the room and promote good health.

Get those sexy legs with Leg Magic!

All in the name of fitness and vanity... last Friday, we bought the Leg Magic Machine. What is that? You wonder. Well, this is a machine that helps to work towards those sexy legs in a month! All you need is a minute, a few times a day on the Leg Magic and the lateral gliding motion helps to work the muscles on those inner and outer thighs as well as those hard to tone buttocks and abs!

At first, I found it hard to believe so I got on the Leg Magic and tried it out. In just 30 secs, I could feel that my inner thighs were tired. I was feeling a little embarrassed but knew this was one cool machine to tone up those muscles before I head to Hawaii in December!

For the past 2 days, I could only manage 2 minutes (with intervals) and I could feel the aches this morning - ouch! Unlike the stepper or a stationary bicycle which you can use for 20-30 minutes, it is not possible to do the Leg Magic for 20 minutes. You could not do the Leg Magic for 2 minutes. But what I like about it is you can do the Leg Magic with the TV, place it in the kitchen while waiting for your soup to boil or put it in the home office when you need that time out from the computer. Priced at $130, Leg Magic is portable and can be set up in seconds and be folded away for easy storage. If you are keen, Click on the Image below to learn more.
