New Zealand - here we come!

This is our first family trip since Clayton came along. It's a long wait for a travel bug like me. And know what? It's a 4 weeks holiday to scenic New Zealand!

It is going to be a unique travel experience because we have a one year old traveller with us - our son, Dan-Clayton Choong.

We have heard so much from friends, magazines, books and travel programs. So you can guess how excited it must have been while I research on the itinerary for the three of us.

This blog tells you about our first experiences during the 4 weeks trip. It covers from our accommodation to food, to shopping, to baby-friendly places and information! It is not one of those generic, 'covers-all' New Zealand information site.

We like you to know where we sleep, where we eat, where we shop and our first experience in certain places. Where are the baby-friendly places and which ones are not! We want to share our family experiences and to let you know what is it like travelling with a one-year old, who screams in his car seat most of the time. Sometimes this goes on for two hours! Poor mummy!

I am adding new posts everyday as there is just so much to write. This is a journal I'd like to share with you.

So, here we go! Enjoy reading and do feel free to share with us your comments, feedback and experiences. WE love to hear from you.

Alex, Doris and Clayton @Mt Eden, Auckland

Mount Eden is a 200 metre high volcanic structure that is the highest point in Auckland, and which easily affords the best view of the city. From its summit you can get a full, panoramic, 360 degree view of the city's bays, islands, hills and cityscape. It is also right next to Eden Gardens, a very attractive park with some nice rose and flower gardens planted in the rich volcanic earth.

Below shows a picture of Sky Tower and the grazing cows on Mt Eden!
