My mum is not a techno savvy person and I don't expect her to be, really. She's in her 50s, close to retirement, grown up in those days where having a TV set in the house is a luxury... I mean, what do you expect?
2 years ago, she picked up a phone while walking home from work. She was so excited that she called my brother right away to ask what to do. You need to know that my mum has never owned a cell phone. After careful instructions from my brother, she bought herself a pre-paid calling card and started learning how to use a cell phone. I was happy that she had finally learnt how to use a cell phone. For a long time, I had wanted to buy her a phone but she just refused. It was something to do with the fear of the unfamiliar!
Well, it's Mother's day this weekend. I am just wondering if I should get her a new phone to replace this old one. Apparently, I can get a brand new FREE free RAZR cell phone with a new Cingular wireless account! And it's mum's favourite colour: pink! How nice! How timely!
