School holidays is fun for all the children. They can sleep in, watch their favourite cartoons, play toys and take a nice break. But for the mom who works from home, it's major disruption and a forced vacation!

More mothers are making money at home these days. While many are tapping on the potential of internet technology like myself, there are other work at home moms who are making money at home with their skills.

I know of some who bake very well and with the encouragement of friends and family have started their own baking business from home. It is nice to be making money at home - little or much - small or big. It's not about 'money' but feeling 'useful' and independent.

Of course, there are those who like to start a small home business so that they too can be making money from home but due to children commitment or a busy travel schedule, they can't stick to something permanent.

There are also more and more men making money at home too. Starting an internet business is the most common and online trading is another. From setting affiliate stores to sell automotive performance parts to digital gadgets, these stay at home dads are becoming enterprising.

Making money at home is something many people like to achieve and all it takes is to discover the world of home businesses out there. Can you sew, knit, bake, craft, market, blog, design, type or teach? If you can do any of these, you may be just a step closer to making that work at home dream come true!

Lately, I have been chatting with a few friends of mine who are keen on making money from the internet. For those in the loop, I'm sure you have heard of money making options such as affiliate marketing, ebay selling, adsense, text links, paid blogging..etc. Unlike those days, paid blogging isn't as easy as before, if you know what I mean. With paid advertising networks on the rise, it presents more money making opportunities for bloggers and site owners. While this is happening, there are other barriers and hindrances along the way and this is presenting more challenges for those of us who enjoy making money from the internet.

But looking back, the internet has opened up lots of money making opportunities for all of us. It's all a matter of choosing the right option and focusing on making it a success. Due to this, DH and myself have been traveling with our laptop these days since we both have online business activities going on no matter where we are. It feels good to know that we can work anywhere in the world and this is truly the power of internet technology.

how is your adsense doing?

Most of us bloggers have installed Adsense on our multiple niche blogs and niche sites in the hope to earn residual income. While some bloggers with good web traffic are reaping rewards from adsense, others are not seeing much residual income coming through. Personally, this blog is pathetic where adsense is concerned, my shopping, home office women and health blog are the ones that are bringing me couple of dollars a day. I know it's not big money but look, there are no efforts at all, other than placing the adsense in the right places. If you do your calculations, $2 x 30 = $60. $60 is equivalent to 12 ptb posts, know what I mean?

Of course, it will be nice to rake in hundreds of dollars every month but for that kind of returns, you are talking about few thousand unique visitors a day to your site - targeted ones, I mean.

Make money niche blogs, text link ads niche blogs... what else?

In the last few months, I have been visiting many niche blogs in and around the worldwide web. It looks like many bloggers are starting make money niche blogs, text link ads niche blogs and internet marketing niche blogs. While I find the topics of discussion insightful and informative in some of these niche blogs, alot of them have content that are copied or duplicated. What it means is that, some bloggers will follow some popular make money niche blogs and duplicate the information found on these niche blogs. There is no originality, only a little revision and rephrase on the content.

While there is no right and wrong in this manner of writing niche blogs (not considered plagiarism unless the entire amount or certain amount of content is copied), it gets boring after a while. Text link ads niche blogs are rising in popularity as more and more text link ads companies are launched. While everyone is geared towards making money from blogging, let us not forget to contribute quality content to our readers. This makes niche blogging more fun and meaningful. Agree?

my adsense is moving!

2 weeks ago, I jumped with joy when I saw my google Adsense skyrocketed to $9! I had never in my life had $9 in a day! I know I probably sound suakoo but it's just one of those little things that light my day. As a matter of fact, I can see that my Adsense is seeing some movement compared to my earlier days of blogging. $19 for 7 days - not bad lah ..... I'm looking forward to my second cheque from Google :)

Writing for sponsored reviews

I have been writing for Sponsored Reviews for a little while and kinda enjoy the bidding system. Though I wish every advertiser would take the effort to decline the bids if the price is not right instead of leaving us bloggers at the pending status. Anyways, can't complain as I have received a few approved assignments from advertisers. The 35% cut from sponsored reviews takes a little while to get used to but come to think about it, this is an open system and it's good.

Last Sunday, I was overjoyed when I got an approved review of $35!! But sadly, I received an email alert from Sponsored Reviews that the post was put out using a stolen credit card - arrgrrhhh... well, at least I didn't start writing, just a little disappointment over the event.

Overall, I like sponsored reviews... just hoping for more approved bids though :)

My first Google check!

After a long 9 months wait... I finally got my first check from Google! Yippee! Though it's not alot of money but it's my first internet marketing check of $122.94 (USD). I can now echo the excitement of many others who received their first checks!

Ok... I'm doing what everyone is doing... take a photo of my first check. It is memorable. It is special. It is exciting. It is a sense of achievement! What am I going to do with the money huh? Maybe frame the check? LOL.
