Health and Beauty Affiliate Network for Work at Home Moms

More and more work at home moms are starting out with an internet businesses with some using their skills to sell products online.

Infact, if you don't have a skill, you can always source for products and sell them via a website. I know it sounds so easy but it does take more efforts than that. Sourcing for products online or offline is one thing, the next thing you need to work on would be to bring traffic to your website. There are millions of ideas and products out there - from children's toys to ebooks to health products including treatment for bad breath, acne treatment.... the list goes on.

The easier route is probably to sign with as an affiliate with a merchant or join an affiliate network. That way, you don't need to source for your own products but just focused on building traffic to your niche site. If health and beauty is your passion, you may want to check out MarketHealth affiliate network where you can sign up as an affiliate and promote the products right away. There are many different kinds of products from weight loss to colon cleansing - once signing up as an affiliate, you can promote using the banners and articles in the network.

If you want to be a work at home mom with an internet business, creativity is a quality that can facilitate your success journey. Read and search online on success stories of other work at home moms and learn from them. The road may be long but it can pay off when the right amount of efforts are put into it.

finished our last workshop of the year

We finally ended our last workshop of the year - Writing Back by Ron Kaufman. We had a great turn out and it was even better to see participants enjoying their learning session with the customer service guru himself.

This workshop, I was spending most of the day with my preschooler since DH was capable of handling it on his own. After working with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur for more than five events, it was disappointing to note that service had paled in certain ways. Personally, I also think that the hotel rooms at Mandarin Oriental need some serious upgrading! While this is not a travel forum I don't intend to go into the details of reviewing the hotel room. I just hope that the carpet is cleaner and the shower head is replaced the next time I check in at Mandarin Oriental again!! Whatever the state of the hotel room was, my preschooler was having a ball of a time.

To all the graduates of Writing Back 2008 - thank you for your ardent participation and support. Keep those wonderful writing going!

an entrepreneur journey

Nowadays, it is easy to find a franchise opportunity if you are all set to become your own boss. From selling donuts to sandwiches, pretzels to ice-cream, starting a franchise means you can ride on an existing brand name and build your business. DH used to own a franchise but after five years of toil and struggles, he decided to call it a day. The high overheads including rental cost and expensive franchise fees had made it very hard to break even and sustain the business. Though it was a challenging journey, the lessons learned had been valuable for him. At least, he had become wiser and less idealistic after this experience.

save on telecommunication with VoIP

If you are an entrepreneur which have recently ventured into a business of your own, chances are you tend to be careful about cost and expenditure of the company. You tend to pay attention to the areas that contribute to the monthly overheads including telecommunication, office rental, manpower, bills and other miscellaneous stuff. These days, business owners can save with VoIP Phone Systems instead of using the former PBX phone systems which can be expensive in maintenance and labour costs. Infact, the Nimbus VoIP provides unlimited US calling and free dialing to any other Nimbus VoIP phone in the world so you may want to check it out for more long term savings for your company.

new office set up

I've enjoyed working from home all these years. Besides saving time on traffic and rush hours, I have the pleasure to be there for my preschooler, cook simple dishes, get some chores in the house done and do my personal stuff. It is a blessing and I treasure it very much.

As business takes on another level for this year, we have decided to acquire a new office space. This is in line with our plans to expand the business and recruiting my work staff for the company. Normally, I will leave these business and office set up stuff to my other half since I do believe that we should focus on what we are good at and I'm not so apt in these things. He's thinking about installing Call Center VoIP Phone Systems instead of the traditional phone systems since the set up is faster and add more versatility. In terms of cost, the savings can be significant in the long run and this is important for us since the core of our business is telemarketing. I was told that if anyone is searching for a call center phone system, Nimbus VoIP Call Center edition requires only a low upfront cost and is a preferred choice among business owners.

our upcoming Jill Lowe's seminar

This is the time of the year where tension fills the home office and DH starts getting stressed out with partnerships and event preparation for the year. We have done all the necessary to approach new partners for our seminars and as usual, they will take their time to respond and approve the partnerships, which will in turn affect our marketing schedule.

But today, we are so thankful that finally, all the partners have confirmed their decision to work with our upcoming seminar with Image Consultant, Jill Lowe. The exciting news for us is the four new partners who have decided to come on board including Her World, Female, Direct Access credit cards and Fitness First. With these new partnerships, we are looking forward to more hype and publicity for our events in the next two months. Hallelujah!

recruitment is a daunting task

Since the start of the year, DH has been focusing on recruiting a couple of staff for our company and sad to say, the outcome has been bleak. I am shocked that so many interviewees stood the employers up even though they said that they would come for the interview. What have they been taught in their schools and by their parents, I wonder? I would expect them to give a call if they change their minds.

These days, recruitment is a daunting task for most employers. I wonder if it's time to seek help from head hunters or professional recruitment companies like A.E. Feldman Associates, Inc. who specializes in risk management jobs placement, human resource consulting, IT, communication and more. Appointing a recruitment company to take over the recruitment process can ease lots of stress and unnecessary frustrations for the employers.

time to design your own logo now!

Last Sunday, I attended an ex-student's wedding and it was a beautiful occasion. Jerry brought me back to the days where I used to work as a design lecturer, specializing in corporate identity, layout design, publication design, typography and others. Jerry was one of those whom I spent a lot of time in guiding him in his design projects and school assignments... those were the days...

As a matter of fact, the internet has contributed lots of changes to the design industry too. These days, you can create a "Do It Yourself Logo Design" with the sophisticated design software features at LOGOYES. And the best thing about it is: it is free to use this service and you pay only if you are happy with your creation! This is excellent for entrepreneurs or small business owners who are starting out, who can't afford to pay hefty fees to designers and design firms. Oh no, I'm not putting this group of professionals out of job but LogoYes is great for those who want to want to unleash their creative potential and have their own go in logo design!

For those who are so new in logo design, the creators of LogoYes have outlined few guidelines of how to ensure your custom logo is an effective one in terms of corporate branding. With an affordable price of only $99, you can use your newly designed logo for any purpose - create your namecard, poster, marketing materials, corporate stationery...etc. Ready to let your creative juices flow? I'm going to design a logo myself and check out the features... join me!

marketing to the right market

I'm so glad we finished our last project for the year. This means closing for the year and looking forward to new plans for the next. Looking back, we have done much marketing for the company over advertising since this has proven to witness better results over the years. Actually, one important aspect in all marketing is the ability to identify the right target and acquire good lists from professional marketing companies like Martin Worldwide. Even for those in insurance and investment, they need insurance lists to reach out to the related target audience, which will then bring targeted results and deliverables.

Do you believe in virtual assistants?

I was introduced to the concept of virtual assistant few months ago and had the experience of working with one. I must say that I am happy with her work and it's nice knowing that someone is helping you virtually with things that you can't find time to accomplish. In fact, many people aren't familiar with virtual assistants and some don't even trust that this working relationship can be carried out smoothly. I'm glad that the internet technology has opened up doors for people to work remotely and expanded many options for those who prefer to work from home.

Do you believe in virtual assistants?

leading provider of security administration solutions

Since most of us are users of the internet, we cannot take computer security for granted. I have to admit that I have been irritated with lots of junk in my mailbox everyday and some of those mails are luring people to release their personal password information.

All the more should internet and computer security be taken seriously to protect any privacy intrusion from unauthorized sources. Companies like Symark meet the security requirements of sarbanes 404 acts for effectiveness of internal controls for financial reporting purposes. Being a leading provider of security administration solutions for IT platforms, Symark is matched with its expertise and dedicated support towards their business clients.

have you heard of a virtual assistant?

If you tell the business people that they can get help now for their business and personal chores by engaging a 'Virtual Assistant ', they may stare at you in disbelief. Last year, I have never heard of virtual assistant until DH introduces the concept to me.

Whether you are a small business or a corporation, the question arises, should you hire a virtual assistant? You know that there are a large number of tasks that need to be done during the day, some which seem impossible to do. However, you know that this is a large leap into a new way of functioning for your business. If you are determining the best business moves, you may want to evaluate your reasons for getting involved with the extra helping hands.

The major reason why anyone would hire a virtual assistant is because there is too much work that is taking away from things that they would be doing. The best way to evaluate on whether you need a virtual assistant or not, are to see what you are doing all day. If you are spending time on administrative correspondence and not your vision, then a virtual assistant may be a good answer. This is especially important if you have noticed that your business is beginning to grow or expand.

Image Asset Management workshop ended

I've been incredibly busy these two days! But it was great to enjoy myself while keeping busy with the Image Asset Management workshop with Jill Lowe. This is the first time we are conducting this seminar in KL and though we only had ten participants, the dynamics were fantastic! Jill did a hands-on demo on every single woman in the room, teaching, guiding and helping us with dressing strategies in our work and personal life. The lessons taught were an eye-opener for most of us and I was glad to see happy faces, transformed individuals in these two days - amazing! I took so many photos that the digital camera battery went flat and the memory card was full! I can't wait to sort out the photos, to show you guys how interesting the workshop had been.

do you wanna be a voice over talent?

Some people are blessed with good voices while others find it hard to even hum a tune. And if you have good voices or should I say, can express yourself by using different tonal values, you may like to consider a voice over talent job. Having said that, this is not an easy task unless you have the passion and talent for the task. But if you do have it, voice over talents are high in demand with advertising and production houses. A good voice over talent can make you laugh, cry and induce excitement or curiosity. Besides, you may be able to speak clearly since your voice is the main communication medium. It can convert a sale, increase interest and lure someone to take action - it's that powerful! If you are looking for a professional and affordable voice over talent, check out the website of doncapone dot com. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, listen to the voice demos of Don Capone and everything else will be self-explanatory.

my dream of a mobile business

I love the idea of having a mobile office. Being someone who loves freedom and space, I hope to fulfill my dream of working anywhere in the world some day. It looks like this can only happen with if I have an internet business or maybe there are options yet to be known to me. But for now, I'm still thankful that we can operate a business without being in a commercial office. No need to beat the morning traffic and waste time on traffic jam. If you live in an urban city, you will understand.

Now, it's even better with internet technology. With Internet fax services, you can send and receive a fax anywhere, anytime as long as you have a computer and an internet connection. For only 1,000 pages at $12.95 per month, you don't have to worry about busy lines, missing faxes, paper jammed and technical errors. Faxes can be received in PDF or TIFF formats in your PC, Mac or PDA. Sign up now and receive a month FREE at MetroFax with the above link.

high definition footages for sale

I've always been asked on why I didn't enter the field of advertising but graphic design. Though I adore advertising design, I didn't fancy the culture and lifestyle of the industry. I'm still captivated by TV commercial and creative animations on the screen, especially the latest 3D graphics that added so much reality and attraction to modern cinematography. What I've just discovered is that advertising agencies and production houses can now purchase high definition footages from HD Stock Video Library. These footages from AlwaysHD are contributed by professional cinematographers and are available for sale on the website. Clients can search for special footage for their use in their commercials or production since these footages are royalty free once purchased, which allow the flexibility of use for any kind of work.

identify your target audience

Starting a business is not easy these days. With rising costs in rental, manpower, utilities and other marketing activities, you need to do your math well before investing in any business. Even when it comes to marketing and advertising, you need to identify your target audience to ensure higher conversion rates. To achieve that, a good quality Mailing List is necessary as you don't want to waste your marketing dollar. No wonder Fortune 1000 companies are turning to Martin Worldwide for reliable data list in their marketing campaigns. The company is reputed for being the largest provider for customized mailing lists, telemarketing lists and fax lists.

more new malls opening up

In the last one month, 3 mega malls have opened up in KL. DH and myself have yet to visit any of these new malls and we won't be til another month or two. There's no point being there as not all shops are opened yet plus the traffic to these malls will be bad at this moment.

DH was telling me about a friend who had two kiosks in KLCC selling sunglasses. He had initially reserved two stores in Pavilion and The Gardens but pulled out last minute from the contract after realizing that he might not sustain with immense competition. As a retailer, not only does he need to invest in used point of sale to reduce cost, he needs to invest in a bulk of inventory to start the new shops. Currently, he's using ibm pos equipment and Fujitsu point of sale equipment which have been serving his business well. But he's concerned about not being able to handle the high rental costs if the initial sales are not favourable.

So I guess running a retail business these days isn't easy after all. Competition, high operating costs, manpower costs, rental, inventory are all part of the business investments that need serious consideration.

document scanning service to the rescue!

As much as I enjoy working with my hubby, there are days of frustration, conflict, arguments and regret. We both have our own working styles so on one hand, we complement each other and on the other, we clash. It's a bitter sweet feeling if you know what I mean.

For instance, he hates filing and I hate mess so this creates a conflict between us. Seven years of running seminars mean we have lots of files and documents in our little home office - imagine the cabinets we need to add each year to accommodate new files. I told DH that we should look into for a company who can help us with Document Scanning Service. That way, we don't have to worry about filing so many registration forms and these documents are kept secure in the archives. Document Scanning Service is also cheaper than buying cabinets and solves all storage problems.
